Workshops, Events & Study Trips

Workshops

Our professional makers lead one day taster workshops are aimed at the complete beginner wanting to try something new or for those who are keen to develop existing talents and interests, by providing the opportunity to join a group of like-minded people and try a new skill in a creative, supportive environment.

Talks & Events

The makers are the focus of our work at Bdc. We believe there is nothing more inspiring than the opportunity to hear a maker talk about their work and studio practice, or give a demonstration. It animates the work we display and offers a greater level of appreciation and understanding of the materials, processes, skills and technologies of contemporary craft.

Study Trips

Curated with our Trustee Gill Curry and local jeweller Linda Jones, these accompanied day trips include visits to other venues to see new exhibitions, often supported by curator talks, or places of architectural interest. Our intention is to introduce our Friends of the Bdc, regular attenders and new audiences to other craft related events as well as the opportunity to visit new venues and the wider arts scene.
